Unlock Camden is on again. Explore the local area’s history and heritage through the sounds and sights of the past along the historical John Street precinct.

The Camden Council Unlock Camden website states
Each year we celebrate Camden’s historic past as well as unlock stories and images and promote the historic locations and buildings in the Camden area. This year the award-winning event Unlock Camden is being held on Saturday 28 September from 10am-3pm across various historic locations in Camden, NSW.
The organisers state:
We are excited to have the opportunity to celebrate with the community all the fabulous history and culture that makes Camden such an amazing place to live and Macarthur such a wonderful community.

The range of activities includes:
- Art Demonstration and engagement by Rizwana Ahmed 10-3 pm
- Display and engage with CAFHS, Author Kelly Cordina, and the Museum in the Multi-purpose room.
- Library will be open till 3 pm with craft in the children’s area.
- Display by Macarthur Singers, Snapology, Shanhe Education and Camden Council Stakeholder Engagement.
- Cakes and Handmade Products by Camden CWA
- Performance by April Solitar 10-12.30, and
- Performance by Sienna Fulton from 12.30 till 3pm
- Heritage Walking Tour 11am Dr. Ian Willis, 1pm Laura Jane

There is a full range of activities across the day at various locations, starting with the Town Farm, then Camden Public School, churches, Camden Museum, Camden Area Family History Society, Camden Library, Alan Baker Art Gallery Macaria, CBC Bank Building, Dr Crookston’s house, and St John’s Church at the top of the Hill.
Unlock Camden 2024 has been proudly funded by the NSW Government in association with Camden Council through the Local Government Heritage Grant.

Attending this local history festival will allow you to enjoy all the action, explore Camden’s historic past, and experience some of the activities of Unlock Camden 2024.
