The Parliament of New South Wales allows Members of Parliament to read into the Hansard Community Recognition Statements or submit them in writing for inclusion.

The Member for Camden, Mrs Sally Quinnell MP, regularly reads community recognition statements about Camden citizens into the Parliament of NSW Hansard. They can be found here.

Recent statements include the Camden Red Cross, St John’s Church Camden, the Kids of Macarthur Foundation Ball, World Blood Donor Day, Bailey Pickles, and a host of others.

Community Recognition Morning Tea

The Member for Camden, Mrs Sally Quinnell MP, invited some of those recognised in her statements to a morning tea and presentation in the Jubilee Room in the Parliament of New South Wales on Wednesday, 28 May 2025.

One of the community recognition statements was given to Dr Ian Willis OAM, who was the joint author of ‘A History of Camden Chinese Market Gardeners 1899-1993’, published by the Camden Historical Society in 2025, and had been read into Hansard on 14 May 2025.

At the end of Wednesday’s Community Recognition Presentation Morning Tea, Mrs Quinnell said that she would be more than pleased to be made aware of any outstanding achievements by Camden citizens that deserve acknowledgement through community recognition statements.
